Every year, the Santa Barbara Fork&Cork honors a local chef and winemaker for the contribution they have made towards advancing their respective crafts as well as their efforts to support for the local community, including the Foodbank of Santa Barbara. In 2014, we honored Michael Blackwell, Executive Chef of the Montecito Country Club, Leslie Mead Renaud, Director of Winemaking/Foley Estate, Lincourt, and Two Sisters Clarissa Nagy, Winemaker Riverbench.

CHEF: JUSTIN WEST, JULIENNE
"I am from Eugene Oregon. My dad was a chef and we have been in the restaurant industry since I was born. I started cooking in professional kitchens when I was 13 years old and I have never done anything else. I moved to San Francisco in 2005 to attend culinary school and that is where I met my wife. We graduated in 2006 and she moved directly to SB, I followed six months later in Feb of 2007. I have worked in all aspects of the restaurant industry but I am glad I get to call myself a chef again."
Situated on the corner of Canon Perdido and Santa Barbara Streets, Julienne opened in 2008. Open Tuesday through Saturday evenings, Julienne serves dinner only. Their menu focuses on seasonal ingredients sourced from local farmers markets to create award-winning dishes.
WINEMAKER: BLAIR FOX WINERY
Blair Fox Cellars is a small, ultra-boutique winery located in the heart of the quaint town of Los Olivos. The tasting room boasts a truely rustic, warm and hospitable style which lends itself to a truly exceptional wine tasting experience. Blair and Sarah Fox along with their two daughters are often there to greet and sample you on their current offerings.
All wines are extremely small lot, hand-crafted bottlings from either their organic estate vineyard or other exceptional vineyards in Santa Barbara County. Grapes are hand harvested and then fermented in small lots to ensure the highest possible quality and true expressions of the vineyards. Their line up of Syrah’s showcase each of these truly unique vineyards and “terrior” that Blair has learned to express in each of the wines.
Year to year their wines have received numerous praises, accolades and awards. Blair Fox continues to receive 90+ pt. scores vintage to vintage and in 2008, Blair was awarded the “Winemaker of the Year” Award.
